The Caramelt Mami shade gives a soft, warm bronze sheen (the formula is sheer, not paint), and the citrus-leaning Juicy Boo is the brighter, cleaner option. We slick a few drops down our shins and collarbones before we walk out the door; it is the trick that turns “I went outside” into “I look like I am on vacation.” Around $15. Tree Hut Coco Colada Shea Sugar Scrub
There is a reason the 18 oz tubs sell out at every Target run. Tree Hut’s sugar scrubs are a workhorse — shea butter, sweet almond, and just-coarse-enough sugar that buffs away rough patches without shredding the skin. The Coco Colada scent is summer in a jar (think coconut, pineapple, a whisper of rum), and it preps skin beautifully for self-tan. Naturium The Smoother Glycolic Acid Body Wash
For anyone with strawberry legs, KP on the upper arms, or the random rough patches that show up between pedicures, this wash is the upgrade. A 10% glycolic acid blend in a low-foam, non-stripping base means you can use it as your regular body wash three or four times a week. Bondi Sands PURE Self-Tanning Foaming Water
We have cycled through a lot of self-tanners, and the PURE line is the one we keep coming back to. It is fragrance-free (no biscuit smell while it develops), the foam is light enough to apply with a mitt in three minutes, and the color builds gradually depending on how long you leave it on before rinsing. Vacation Classic Whip SPF 30 Sunscreen Mousse
The bar for “sunscreen we will actually reapply” is low — it has to feel good. Vacation’s whipped mousse clears it. The texture dispenses like espresso foam, melts in clear with no white cast, smells like the 80s in the best way (coconut, banana, pool deck), and re-layers without pilling on top of body oil or self-tan.
