Becca Cosmetics

Becca Cosmetics was started by Make Up Artist, Rebecca Morrice Williams, from Australia. She wanted a line of makeup that looked natural yet still looked fresh and felt weightless. Becca Cosmetics has been a cult favorite with celebrities such as Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Natalie Portman, and many others (she has many others listed on her website). I also love that on her website there are artist tips and also looks with step by step details on how to apply the makeup to achieve the look they are showing. What I love about this line is the colors, everything is very neutral but it still looks refined, don’t we all want to be effortless beauties?

I tried 3 products from Becca Cosmetics, the Lip and Cheek Creme in Blossom, Sheer Tint Lip Colour in Laelia, and something that is out of the ordinary for me a blue shimmer shadow, Jewel Dust in Nixie.

The Lip and Cheek Creme in Blossom ($29.00) has really cute packaging. It is a small silver and brown compact with a mirror inside. The texture is very creamy and the color is on the peachy nude side even though it is described as a caramel nude. It looked very natural on and gave me a soft flush throughout my cheeks. I also applied it on my lips and it looked very light. I preferred it on my cheeks. I applied it with my fingers and the apples of my cheeks and long my cheek bones. I think this color would look nice on any skin tone. I really like it. In the photo is does look a bit darker than it is. It is also paraben free.

The Sheer Tint Lip Colour in Laelia ($24.00) is in a sliver lipstick tube and you twist the top off, which is great so the cap never comes and makes a mess in your makeup bag or handbag. Laelia is a sheer peach nude, I love this color. I have pigmented lips and it makes my lips look full and pillowy. It’s sheer but gives enough color to my lips. It is moisturizing and is on the creamy-er side. It is lightly scented, very light, it has a hint of vanilla in the fragrance. This color looks great day to night and also is an easy color to wear, you can use it every day. I want to try this in Yasmina, a nude mauve. I love this lip tint!

Finally, I tried the Jewel Dust in Nixie ($24.00). This was my least favorite out of the 3. Not because I don’t like this product but I don’t like blue shadows on myself. I probably should have tried Mazikeen which is a purple color. What I do like about this product is that the color is very pigmented. It lasts a long time and the color does look exactly the same as it does in the container. A lot of times I will try a colored shadow and it never looks the same on my skin as it does in the container this one did. If blue isn’t your color either there are 12 other colors to choose from, these are great especially if you love shimmer shadows.

I want to try Becca’s Eye Tint in Baroque and Gilt.

Some other products that stood out to me that I would like to try are her foundations both the Luminous Skin Colour and Stick Foundation (I’ve never tried a stick foundation before) and her bronzers.

You can find Becca Cosmetics here, you can shop online and also check out their tutorials.
