A Dry Shampoo that is No Bueno

Hands down this is the worst product I have ever wasted my money on.  Tresemme Fresh Start Dry Shampoo ($4.79) is awful.   I don’t care if it’s only $5.00, go buy something else with that.  The only thing that is ok about it that I didn’t mind the smell of it that much.  I have long, thick, dark hair and it doesn’t get very oily.  I wash my hair like every other day or every two days (gasp, I know the horror). This is the very first dry shampoo I have ever used.  I can tell you that I am not that excited about dry shampoos.  Unfortunately, for me I used this Tresemme Fresh Start (not so fresh) before I went to a pool party.  I sprayed it through my hair because the night before I was out and where I was there was a lot of smoking going on around me.  I wanted my hair to be freshened up and I didn’t want to wash it.  I sprayed Fresh Start through my hair liberally after I had sprayed it I touched my hair and it felt weird.  I felt like just washing it after  I had touched it but now I was running late.  Before I walked out the door I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and saw that my hair looked completely white!!! When I rushed to the mirror to see myself up close I realized it was the dry shampoo that had turned my hair white.  Of course I tried to put water in my hair and the dry shampoo because a sticky mess in my hair.  It was a disaster! The bottom line is never ever buy this.

Do I love it or leave it?

I LEAVE it!

  1. Hahaha you actually used it wrong it sounds like- I love this stuff, I’ve used a lot of dry shampoos and they all are white (although there are some that are in your hair color, but they all are used the same way with similar formulas).

You have to spray at the roots of your hair, not all over like hair spray. It’s going to be wet so you let it dry for a minute or two, then you brush and tousle your roots until the white powder absorbs the oil in your hair.

When you use it right it actually works better than dry shampoos that are just powder and not sprays because it gives your hair some volume.

I actually blogged about how much I love this product a while ago!

Lol! I didn’t brush it out, but I did spray it to my roots. I will try it one more time, this time I’ll spray less and brush. I did buy a different dry shampoo that I’m going to test. Fingers crossed.
